第36回美浜美術展にて「令和神奈川沖裏波」が福井県知事賞を受賞しました“Reiwa Kanagawa-oki Ura Nami” Receives the Fukui Governor’s Award at the 36th Mihama Art Exhibition

このたび、第36回美浜美術展（主催：美浜美術展実行委員会）において、拙作《令和神奈川沖裏波》が福井県知事賞を受賞いたしました。本展は1987年より続く、地域文化の振興と発展を目的とした公募展で、全国各地から数多くの作品が寄せられます。その中から本作が選ばれたことは、大きな喜びであり、深く感謝申し上げます。


《令和神奈川沖裏波》は、葛飾北斎の名作《神奈川沖浪裏》から着想を得て描いた作品です。世界的に知られるその名画が「波」を象徴していたのに対し、私の作品は**「空」と「光」**を新たな時代の象徴として描いています。


令和という時代は、もはや荒れ狂う波のように力を誇示する時代ではなく、**光があらゆる存在を包み込み、互いを照らし合わせる“空の時代”**だと私は感じています。そこに浮かぶ一人の人物は、現代を生きる私たちの姿であり、内なる静けさと宇宙の共鳴を象徴しています。


I am honored to announce that my painting Reiwa Kanagawa-oki Ura Nami (Reiwa, The Great Wave off Kanagawa) has received the Fukui Governor’s Award at the 36th Mihama Art Exhibition, organized by the Mihama Art Exhibition Committee. Founded in 1987, this exhibition aims to promote and expand regional culture, and it continues to be one of Japan’s most respected open-call art events. I am deeply grateful for this recognition among many outstanding works submitted from across the country.


The painting Reiwa Kanagawa-oki Ura Nami is inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s world-renowned masterpiece The Great Wave off Kanagawa.While Hokusai’s original symbolized the power and dynamism of the “wave,” my reinterpretation transforms that vision into an era of “sky” and “light.”


In the age of Reiwa, I believe we are moving beyond the forceful energy of the wave toward a more expansive and luminous consciousness—an Era of Sky and Light, where illumination replaces turbulence, and connection replaces confrontation.The solitary figure in the painting represents humanity today—reflective, serene, and in resonance with the universe itself.


本作品は、今後、美浜町生涯学習センター「なびあす」および福井県立美術館にて展示される予定です。そして、授賞式は11月24日に行われます。当日は式典に出席し、感謝の言葉を直接お伝えしてまいります。


この受賞を励みに、これからも「光の意識」とともに、時代を越えて響く新しい美のかたちを追い求めていきます。


This work is scheduled to be exhibited at the Mihama Town Lifelong Learning Center “Nabiasu” and later at the Fukui Prefectural Museum of Art.

The award ceremony will be held on November 24, 2025, and I will attend to express my gratitude in person.


This honor renews my determination to continue creating works that explore the consciousness of light— to seek a form of beauty that transcends time and reminds us that the universe itself is alive with quiet, radiant intelligence.
