——「令和神奈川沖浪裏」と、空へ向かう視線—— 今週、叔母と一緒に 第36回 美浜美術展 へ行ってきました。雪が降り出しそうな、身を切るように冷たい一日でした。福井の冬特有の、空気が張りつめた吐く息が白く、空の色が低く沈んで見えました。京都から福井に到着した時には数℃低いと感じました。 今回この美術展を訪れた理由は、 福井県知事賞を受賞した自分の油絵作品を、この目で見るため です。会期は 1月16日から25日まで 。会場は、 福井市にある福井県立美術館・2階展示室 。静かな館内に足を踏み入れた瞬間、時間の流れが少しだけ遅くなったように感じました。 展示されていた自作の油絵のタイトルは 「令和神奈川沖浪裏」 。この作品は、葛飾北斎の《神奈川沖浪裏》からインスピレーションを受けて制作しました。北斎は、巨大な波を画面の主役として押し出し、人や船を呑み込もうとするその一瞬を切り取っています。波は力であり、恐怖であり、自然そのものです。 一方で、僕がこの作品で選んだのは、 まったく逆の発想 でした。波ではなく、 空 。動きではなく、 静けさ 。迫りくる瞬間
